It is a good practice to carry a certified copy of your birth certificate as well. You DO NOT need the form below.
For those who are under 18 at the time of Travel:
You will need:
Your child will need to travel with the original "inked" documents and color copies of each parent ID at all times during the trip. A Certified Original or Copy of their Birth Certificate from the issuing authority is required. Photocopies, color copies, et cetera will not be allowed by the airline and the South African Government. Both parents must sign the document or have one for each if living in different locations. If there are special circumstances, please contact the Trip Coordinator.

Passports:
The US State Department issues passports. We suggest the moment you have been chosen to go - get your Passport Application submitted ASAP. Depending on the time of year it can take weeks to months to get it. Both parents will need to go to the appointment if under 18. Upload a Clear, Color, Legible image of the passport - it must be the picture page and page below that - with all numbers present.
As of 10/9/2025: Current US Passport processing is 4-6 weeks.
